The Role of Interventional Radiology in Cancer Care

I am deeply involved in advancing cancer care through Interventional Radiology. At IRIA TN & PY 2025, I spoke on “The Role of Interventional Radiology in Cancer Care”, highlighting how IR has become an integral part of modern oncology.

Interventional Radiology plays a key role throughout the cancer journey — from precise image-guided diagnosis to targeted, minimally invasive treatments. These procedures allow effective management of cancer while reducing pain, recovery time, and treatment-related side effects, ultimately improving a patient’s quality of life.

Interventional Oncology is now recognised as the fourth pillar of oncology, alongside medical, surgical, and radiation oncology. My focus is to offer patient-centred, minimally invasive treatment options that complement conventional cancer therapies and support better outcomes.
