CIRSE 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark, was a memorable few days of learning, sharing knowledge and connecting with colleagues from around the world.
It was a privilege to contribute to the scientific programme as Chair and Co-Moderator of the session FS 424 – HCC: Integrating IO Therapies in the Multidisciplinary Pathway, alongside Dr Sebastian Ebel.
The session provided an excellent opportunity to explore the evolving role of interventional oncology in the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). It also highlighted the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration when developing comprehensive and patient-focused treatment pathways.
Contributing to Scientific Research
I was also pleased to contribute to two scientific poster presentations:
- P-0438: Outcomes and Quality of Life Following Radiofrequency Ablation of Benign Thyroid Nodules: A Single-Centre Prospective Study
- P-0701: Evaluation of the Safety and Short-Term Efficacy of Ultrasound-Guided Genicular Nerve Radiofrequency Ablation in Patients with Chronic Knee Pain in an Indian Quaternary Hospital
These presentations offered valuable opportunities to share our findings, exchange perspectives and engage in meaningful discussions with specialists in interventional radiology.
Connections Beyond the Scientific Programme
Beyond the formal sessions and presentations, CIRSE 2026 was also about reconnecting with old friends, meeting new colleagues and exchanging ideas with professionals from different parts of the world.
International conferences such as CIRSE play an important role in advancing interventional radiology by bringing together clinical experience, emerging research and new approaches to patient care.
I am grateful for the opportunity to contribute, learn and share knowledge at such an important international platform for the interventional radiology community.
