Fiji College of General Practitioners (FCGP) Conference

I was honored to be a guest speaker at the FCGP Conference in May, held at the beautiful Crowne Plaza Resort in Wailoaloa, Nadi, where I shared insights on the life-changing minimally invasive treatments offered by Interventional Radiology (IR).

I discussed how IR provides safe, effective alternatives to traditional surgery for common conditions, emphasizing benefits like:
✅ No large incisions or scars
✅ Faster recovery times
✅ Avoiding general anesthesia in many cases

Some of the key treatments I highlighted included:
🔹 Uterine Artery Embolization (UAE) for fibroids – A game-changer for women’s health.
🔹 Peripheral artery angioplasty for diabetic foot – Saving limbs and improving quality of life.
🔹 Radiofrequency ablation for thyroid & prostate conditions – Precision treatment with minimal downtime.

The physicians were highly engaged, with many thought-provoking discussions on how these cutting-edge IR techniques could greatly benefit patients in Fiji, reducing the need for invasive surgeries.
